(Arcadia) – It used to be called “The Brawl for the Mall” when Arcadia and Temple City clashed. Friday night it was just an old fashioned scrimmage at Salter Field as both teams prepared for the 2025 season.
Each team took a series of offensive snaps from the 40-yard line and later from the red zone. No score was officially recorded but Arcadia did have the advantage as quarterback AJ Presnall threw a few long touchdown passes. The Apaches offense was able to consistently move the ball on the Rams defense.
The Temple City offense struggled at times and the Apache defense intercepted Temple City quarterback Jake Leones. The TC defense did manage an interception late in the contest.
Arcadia defensive end Aiden Driscoll suffered a dislocated elbow in the scrimmage and will be out 4-6 weeks according to Arcadia head coach Eric Elias.
Temple City opens the season next Thursday night against Whittier at San Marino High school. Arcadia will kick things off at El Monte next Friday night August 22.

Perhaps it’s the stadium. For instance, have the lights been installed yet?
TC’s new field is very nice, but hard to believe it’s not ready for the season.
Baffling that a school could host graduation in June on the FOOTBALL FIELD at the stadium but the team can’t play a home football game at the end of August.
