(El Monte) – Brian Edolmo hit a three-point shot at the buzzer to lift Ontario to an improbable 46-45 win over Arroyo Friday night on the Knights home floor.
The buzzer beating shot capped a 16-1 Ontario run to finish the fourth quarter. The Jaguars, who had struggled offensively scoring only 23 points in the first three quarters, outscored Arroyo 23-9 in the final frame to pull it out.
With 13 seconds left and trailing 45-43 Ontario got the ball into the front court and into the hands of Edolmo who launched it from behind the arc. The ball sailed through the net as the clock hit zeroes for the one-point victory and the Ontario celebration ensued.

The Knights were in control through the first three quarters. They led 18-8 after one as Elias Juarez scored 10 points in the quarter and Johnny Vargas hit a pair of threes.
Arroyo was still up by 11, 26-15, at halftime. The Knights then extended the lead to 36-23 at the end of the third quarter.
Early in the fourth quarter Arroyo was up 44-30 and seemingly on its way to a win. Then the roof caved in. The Jaguars, led by Edolmo, who had 10 points in the fourth, and Adrian Terones who scored five, went on the run that culminated with the game winning three.

Edolmo led Ontario with 17 points and Terones had 12. Carlos Blanco had seven points including two huge buckets in the fourth quarter.
For Arroyo Juarez led all scorers with 19 while Vargas and Louis Ventura each scored nine. All of Vargas’ points came from long distance.
With the victory Ontario improved to 9-1 while the Knights fell to 4-3.
