I’ve been there before… It’s an awesome experience.
Thoughts on the Rams making the deal for Trent McDuffie. Since draft season began, I’d been harping on the hit-and-miss aspect of drafting a CB in the first round.
Needing to take a playmaker at #13…#29 was a perfect spot to take a CB, but there was no way the Rams were going to get a corner the caliber of McDuffie at #29. The fifth and sixth were toss-ins…And those getting worked up about a third-rounder in 2027…The team will likely get that back in compensation after OC Nate Scheelhaase takes an HC job.
(Note: Scheelhaase, being a minority hired as an HC or GM, would net the Rams 2 third-round compensatory picks as per league rules.)
Others argued that McDuffie made his bones working as a slot corner his first two years and was less than spectacular when asked to move to the boundary.
He wasn’t bad; he can play the boundary better than anything the Rams presently have, and at a high level with most NFL corners.
The difference is that in the Chiefs’ defensive scheme, they blitz often and run what they call exotic packages that put their corners on an island.
That’s not what the Rams do. The Rams, in their scheme, ask for pattern matching…
This deal should work out well.

Last Add Rams: If they can find a way to ink Tyler Linderbaum to play center, then they’ll have something.
Last Note Scottsdale: I was a little suspicious of the Giants/Scottsdale staff working the crowd for 50/50…I thought it was a scam to raise money for free agency.
Saw this question on X/Twitter last night… “How much would Hakeem Olajuwon average in today’s NBA?”
Olajuwon’s career average was 21.8…with a career season high sitting at 27.8…I think the bare minimum in 2025-2026 would be 30 per game…
Really Last Add Rams: I’d be willing to take a flyer on former Bengals edge Trey Hendrickson—if he’s willing to chase a ring.
Sat next to some Angels fans during Spring Training… I’ve never seen a more discouraged bunch. The last time I saw people that down they were forced to listen to Keith Olbermann.
Really Last Add Scottsdale: I was in the process of ordering a Navajo Taco and this Giant’s babe steps in front of me…and the vendor took her order.
Then I got a look when I decided not to tip…Sorry, but there are rules…and one of mine is when I get jobbed out of 125-bones to not see the game that I paid for and then get aced out of proper customer service that means no tip.
