Joe T., always working hard…

By Joe Torosian

Kick it!

Sorry, Fanview’s late today…I got back from Spring Training and my body feels like it sat in on a coffee shop convo with visible growlers—Keith Olbermann and Jemele Hill.

I’m starting to think Tyler Higbee has photos of Sean McVay, Les Snead, Kevin Demoff, and Stan Kroenke… because I do not understand why the Rams keep bringing him back.

Truth is, Higbee is comfort food for the Rams. There are certain players—John Johnson, Troy Reeder, Ronnie Rivers—that make the team feel comfortable in a position room.

Higbee is that guy for the TEs room, and he comes cheap.

Keep an eye on cornerback Darious Williams. Like Higbee, it seems an easy call to move off from Williams. The Rams would save 7.5-Rocks against the cap and find a younger guy–all good.

But the Rams signed Williams as a UDFA after he was discarded by the Ravens, they developed him, won a Super Bowl with him, let him leave for a serious contract, then they brought him back.

I’m not saying it’s going to happen—as Williams begins to give me a comfort food vibe—but I won’t be surprised if he’s back with the Rams in 2026.

Last Add Cactus League: The Cubs’ Sloan Park (Wrigley replicated) is the best of the parks. Salt River Stadium at Talking Stick is a must…and I have a soft spot for Peoria (home of the Padres & Mariners).

Since my last visit in 2017, prices have skyrocketed, and the experience is losing its chill feel.

#5—May the San Francisco Giants rot and lie stinking in the earth.

Next Add Higbee: The current TE Room features Davis Allen, Colby Parkinson, Terrance Ferguson and Higbee. (We’re not including members of the Practice Squad.)

Allen, Parkinson, and Higbee are all true TEs…Ferguson, and we made this point several times last season, lined up in-line (Tradition TE spot) 195 times. But took 208 snaps in the slot and out wide.

At 6-5/255, Ferguson is flexible and versatile. Some credible analysts suggested Oregon TE, Kenyon Sadiq, to be of interest to the Rams at #13-overall.

Sadiq, the top-rated TE in the draft, is 6-2/245. He played 412 passing snaps for the Ducks in 2025, but only 114 lining up in-line.

While it would appear to be overkill to have five TEs on the roster, it would give the 13-Personnel package massive flexibility. And that’s before discussion about 11-Personnel sets with either Ferguson or Sadiq as WR #3.

Did LeBron really get hurt last night? That elbow injury looked about as authentic as a Somali Learing Center.

Next Add Rams: I have no doubt the Rams took a peek at A.J. Brown, but did you ever think for a minute the Eagles would deal Brown to another NFC contender?

The Raiders have released Geno Smith…

I like the Bills trade for D.J. Moore…The Bears will replace Moore, but they still have to address their defense…And, this is good news, they have to find a replacement at center for the retired Drew Dalman.

Texans put Joe Mixon in the street–and that’s about that.

Last Add Rams: I love the re-signing of Kam Curl…and at the price they got him for. Great deal, and even better, it keeps continuity with Quentin Lake, Kam Kinchens, and Jaylen McCullough on the back porch.

Pair that with Trent McDuffie at cornerback….and things are starting to come into focus.

…And I still believe in Emmanuel Forbes.

Now, if they can make some magic happen with Tyler Linderbaum.

The Dude abides…
