(Walnut) – Walnut named Joseph “Joe” Goyeneche as its new head football coach the school confirmed Sunday.
Goyeneche most recently coached at St. Bonaventure where he led them to the CIF SoCal Regional championship in 2023 and an appearance in the CIF State Bowl Game Division 1 championship. He had an over record of 41-15 at St. Bonaventure.
Goyeneche takes over for Eric Peralta who stepped down in May. The Mustangs went 4-6 overall last year (0-5 in the Hacienda League) and missed the playoffs.
