South El Monte standout Jose Garay has decided to attend the University of La Verne and play football.
Garay will begin spring football workouts once baseball season is over at South. He holds all but one of SEM’s passing records.
Highlights include: Most passing yards in a season-2712; most passing yards in a game-491; most td’s in a season-31, most TD’s in a game-6, career passing yards-7215 and career td passes-77. He also led the Eagles to back to back Mission Valley League titles.
