(La Verne, CA) The Damien Spartans had to wait 12-months to try and get some payback for last year’s 7-0 loss to the La Serna Lancers. Oh, what a difference the year made as the Spartans rolled to a 35-21 victory over the Lancers at home on Friday night.

Upland Highlands Chargers

By Alex A. Gonzalez Covina — The Upland Highlanders scored on their first three possessions and added a pick-six, jumping to 28-0 lead Friday night against Charter Oak at Lou Farrar Stadium. Trent Dailey led the way by scoring two rushing touchdowns, helping his team cruise to a 31-10 win over the Chargers.

Kares Look Rio Good, 29-9

By Tim Peterson (Irwindale)- Rio Hondo Prep scored 29 straight points after allowing a field goal in the first quarter and went on to beat Torrance 29-9 Friday night at Kare Park.

By Rich Whittington (San Gabriel) – The San Gabriel Matadors continued to fine-tune their strategy for their upcoming Almont League season, defeating the visiting Temple City Rams, 42-28, Friday evening, in front of a very supportive fan base at San Gabriel High School’s Matador Stadium.

Wildcats Air it Out, 42-29

By Tim Peterson (San Dimas) – Brian Salazar threw for 465 yards and three touchdowns to lead Monrovia to a 42-29 win over San Dimas Thursday night on the Saints home field.

Glenn Has “Run”derful Night in Glendale, 46-6

By Rich Whittington (Glendale) – The John Glenn Eagles compiled 396 rushing yards Thursday evening, en route to a 46-6 victory over the host Glendale Nitros in front of a sizeable crowd at Glendale’s Moyse Stadium.

Sierra Vista Wins Home Opener, 14-12
