Good Afternoon!
Before we get started can somebody get Burbank’s Quortney Brazier some Pepto or Tums…please…thank you…
Oh, I have always been a Chris Solomon fan…I hear runs the ball too…
Perhaps its just the games I’ve been to this year…but the long snapping sucks…Maybe local coaches ought to contract Patrick Greene (Monrovia alum/current Utah Ute) to do run some special sessions.
Last night was Temple City’s first loss ever to a school in the current Mission Valley League…outside of Arroyo and Rosemead…of course it was only its third match up ever against a school in the current Mission Valley League outside of Arroyo and Rosemead.
“Alhambra? Wha happen?” Ricky Ricardo asked when he called me this morning…and you should have heard Lucy when I told them about the Moors loss to South Pasadena.
Trouble cooking in Pomona and Muir…The Mustangs are without Ken Howard and the Red Devils are being looked into…And its become real quiet all of a sudden.
Northview, 35-17 over Baldwin Park last night, have a shot at being 4-0 in Valle Vista play before the face San Dimas and Covina consecutively at the end of the regular season. Those close non-league losses are going to come back to haunt them down the stretch. The first three were by a combined 15 points.
San Gabriel wide receiver Alex Villalobos now has 50 catches on the season.
Did anyone believe Wilson would be 0-5? 2-3 maybe? 1-4 possibly? But 0-5…Is everyone good with that?
The bad news for Monrovia is they are 1-3…the good news is next week’s opponent Paramount is 1-3 as well.
Ellis McCarthy was back in action for the Wildcats, but it was linebacker Brett Walsh who was in on 18 tackles…Blake Heyworth did get the offense off the ground with 255 yards passing.
Nogales’ Keith Boldin scored three more touchdowns last night in the Nobles win over Wilson and now has 11 on the season.
If you are interested…buy me lunch this week…and I will tell you how much and why The Mid loves Arcadia “Bad Dude” Robbie Haines…
Give the Devil his due: Staffer Andy Villanueva had Arcadia in a blowout last night and actually stated it on Tuesday night.
…Now lets comeback down to earth… Santa Fe is 1-4 and has been shutout three times this season. The Chiefs were in Villanueva’s projected top three in August.
Note to Demolitionists: If you need to hire someone to run through a brick wall I suggest you give South El Monte Eagles running back Dominic Munoz a call.
Munoz may not be Zander Anding…but Munoz is a guy any coach would want running for his team.
Speaking of Burroughs’ Zander Anding, he’s the kind of player any college in America might want playing for them on Saturday’s next fall.
Anding might be more dominant with the ball in his hands than Dominique Barnes was for the Indians a few years ago.
It’s not all Billy Livingston after all at Covina.
Last Add Santa Fe: It’s not all bad…Schurr is 0-4 and has been shutout three times. The Spartans have been outscored 147 to 14.
Staying in the Almont: Bell Gardens, struggling on defense, is 1-3 but the Lancers are averaging 34 points a game on offense.
On Wednesday night, on his way into Chipotle, Maranatha HC Pete Karavedas said; “I’m telling you I think South Pasadena is going to be pretty good.”
I, of course, despised the youth of this head coach…and told him how Alhambra was going to hammer the Tigers.
Reality Check: When someone who knows his business, tells you something about his business…the best thing for you to do is to say thank you and mind your own business…
Lesson learned.
Note to Coach Karavedas: Can you tell me who you like in the Super Bowl this year?
Arroyo has come through bye week well.
Is it possible Los Altos got too much pub too soon?
Michael Davis, wide receiver, is a reason to go see Glendale this season. Don’t be afraid, it won’t hurt you to cruise out to Moyse Stadium some Thursday night.
Note to Zeke Prado: Michael Davis.
La Salle has lost 16 in a row.
Bellflower beats La Mirada, 21-7, for the first time since 2007. The world has changed and now you have to wonder if the Buccaneers defense is good enough to stop Mayfair and the running trio of Aaron Brown, Jerry Smith, and Marcus Harden.
Rosemead running back Matt Eddy rushed for 144 yards last night, he has 518 on the season, and now needs just 482 to break a thousand yards.
Playing from behind so much so far this season, you have to wonder if Temple City’s streak of having a thousand rusher every year since 1998 will come to halt.
Mid Valley Karma in full effect Friday night for Diamond Ranch and Roddy Layton.
Since they are playing this coming week it might be interesting to note that on this date in 1976 Rosemead’s Tom McNutt went 76-yards on the game’s first play and later hit Brian Zwick on a 17-yard touchdown pass to give the Panthers a 14-0 victory over Temple City at North Field.
…It was the Rio Hondo League opener for both clubs.
Burbank has found a quarterback in Austin Mowatt…the only downside is he’s a senior. They also have Teddy Arlington and Herman Castro to complement Brazier.
This might seem ridiculous on a Saturday afternoon, but my beef with “Moneyball” is shouldn’t the Oakland A’s have won a World Series this past decade to make the whole story come together? Shouldn’t they have at least made it to a World Series…
…And when the psychopaths (BlueState) tell me that it worked for the Boston Red Sox I have find it tough to buy considering the size of the Red Sox payroll…
Last Add South El Monte: This is the first time in school history they have started a season 4-0.
Next week Keppel will look to even its record at 3-3 when they play the Mid Valley Sports traveling squad…Of which I have the build to be the quarterback of that team.
Help me, help you!
