(La Canada) – La Canada overcame a 12 point halftime deficit to beat Santa Margarita 53-47 and advance to the CIF Division 3A semi finals Wednesday night.
The Lady Spartans were down 27-15 at the half but came roaring back outscoring Santa Margarita 22-7 in the third quarter to take control. La Canada had three players in double figures as Courtney Chen led the way with 19 points, and Amber Graves and Keilee Bessho each had ten.
Aundrea Issakhanian had 9, scoring most of her points when LC was struggling just to stay in the game.
The semi-final birth is the first for HC Tamar Hill.
Next up is a trip to Lakewood to play St. Joseph’s Saturday night, 7:PM.
