2.) Glendale RB (Jr.) Daniel Jung’s 2013 stats: 914 yards rushing, 9 touchdowns. Nine catches, 3 touchdowns, 36 tackles, 2 interceptions.
3.) Former Diamond Bar WR Cordell Broadus transfers to Bishop Gorman High School in Las Vegas.
4.) Los Angeles Dodgers sign long time Los Angeles Angels utility man Chone Figgins to a minor league contract. Figgins was out of baseball last year after spending the previous three seasons (2010-2012) with the Seattle Mariners. He recently turned 36.
5.) Boston Red Sox sign Grady Sizemore, the former Cleveland Indians center fielder who hasn’t played in the major leagues since 2011 due to injuries. Sizemore is 31.
6.) Former NBA forward Cliff Robinson an 18-year veteran, who played for the Portland Trail Blazers, Phoenix Suns, Detroit Pistons, Golden State Warriors and New Jersey Nets, will be on the next season of “Survivor”. The show begins Wednesday, February 26th on CBS.
7.) “He is a b—- and that’s why he hasn’t won anything.”—Retired New York Giants running back Brandon Jacobs on San Francisco 49ers HC Jim Harbaugh. Jacobs played briefly for the 49ers in 2012.
8.) Former NFL running back Chris Warren turns 47 today. Warren played 11 seasons in the NFL, including his first eight (1990-1997) with the Seattle Seahawks. Named to three Pro Bowls, and All-Pro twice, Warren strung together four consecutive 1,000-yard seasons for the Seahawks. A fourth round draft choice out of Ferrum, he became a starter in his third season.
9.) On this date in 2012 Gevontray Ainsworth transferred out of Covina. He eventually landed at Monrovia and played a key role in them winning their third consecutive CIF title.
