(Temple City) – The Temple City Rams made a bold statement Thursday evening, shutting out the previously undefeated Mountain View Vikings, 35-0, in the friendly confines of Bob Hitchcock Stadium.
The Rams played a solid, well-rounded style of offense, scoring on the ground as well as through the air.
Temple City opened the scoring at the 8:06 mark in the first quarter, when Michael Paiz scored on an 11-yard TD run. The PAT attempt was successfully converted by Jadon Griffin, making the score 7-0. This touchdown proved to be the only score in the game’s opening quarter.
The Rams continued their offensive prowess in the second period. Quarterback Jake Jones connected with receiver Judah Douglas for a 30-yard score. A second Griffin PAT made the score 14-0 with 4:15 remaining in the half. TC added another TD in the period, as Jones found Griffin in the end zone for an 8-yard touchdown. Griffin also added his third PAT of the evening, making the score 21-0 at the intermission.
The score remained 21-0 until the game’s final period. At this point, Jones proved that he could score on the ground as well as through the air, hitting pay dirt on a 3-yard TD blast. Griffin PAT #4 made the score 28-0 with 10:07 remaining in regulation.
Temple City added its final score of the game a few minutes later when Daniel Deharo scored on a 56-yard TD scamper. The PAT was successfully converted by Tristan Powell, making the score 35-0 as the game came to a close.
Temple City’s next game is next Thursday night when the Rams will host the Polytechnic Panthers. Mountain View’s next contest is scheduled for Friday night as the Vikings will host the Century Centurions. Kickoff for both contests is 7:00 p.m.

Time to bring back the Mid Valley Classic against Arroyo?
SEM life and death to defeat a winless Garey squad last night , so not sure about your conclusion there !
MVL is down, way down this year
Many people were intrigued to watch this game tonight, may I dare say “Cherry pick gone wrong for Mtn. View?” Temple City is the real deal. Ain’t no Cupcake, huh? Back to the drawing board, wait but you’ll have a chance next week with Century and finish pre-season at 4-1 before the real season starts. Like I said the real team to beat in the MVL is SEM. They’re slinging the ball around. That’s all folks.
