El Monte will wear number "11" on its helmet in honor of the late Hector Urias, who quarterbacked the team through the 1980 season

Good Afternoon!

Jubilee Dunbar!

I can dig being into your team…but my friends at Wilson have taken things to another level. I don’t know internal workings, I don’t claim to know or want to know internal workings, but I can say this: this Wildcat team—as it stands now—has a shot to be special and do damage in the post-season.

Everybody in the Valley Vista is mortal…and if Wilson makes the Dance it would be in the upper eight not the lower eight.

Don’t self-destruct…

***

So essentially if you need a big play, you go to Maranatha wide receiver Josh Jones.

***

Two things I’m certain of after seeing Monrovia beat South Hills…Check that three things… First; Ellis McCarthy, Ellis McCarthy, Ellis McCarthy… He is smoking along that Wildcat front line…Two; HC Ryan Maddox’s call to go for it on fourth and inches with 2:02 to play at his own 29 with the game on the line puts him in the high country…and on the short list, right now, for coach of the year…

***

Third? Sorry to say, South Hills doesn’t have enough. Not enough Miracle Men to compete in 2010 in the Sierra League.

***

El Monte will honor Hector Urias by wearing a number “11” decal on the back of their helmets for the remainder of the season. Urias, who was murdered in his auto shop last month, quarterback the Lions through the 1980 season and into the first round of the playoffs.

***

Is Southman Bryan Aguilar the Mid-Valley Division’s version of Devin Hester?

***

I was a little disappointed with the crowds at Ken Gunn Stadium last night while watching West Covina and Walnut…They weren’t bad, but I was expecting more. Noise level was pedestrain at best.

***

Not disappointed at all with WestCo stud Chris Solomon, who was gliding and hurdling defenders all night.

***

Walnut does have a quarterback in Brandon Roach…dude took a beating and kept on coming back for more.

***

Hector Valencia said his defense wasn’t stuggling as bad as everyone thought at Burbank…Last night proved his point in the Buolldogs 22-19 win at Muir.

***

Here comes Diamond Ranch…just in time for league. I’ve seen this before.

***

The HC thinks I look like a Mad Albanian, but Peteson had this to say about Cal;

“I’m telling you they are a lot better than everyone thinks. I’m not ready to write them off.”

Peterson was at the Schurr-Cal contest on Thursday night.

***

Joe Heggins? I don’t know a Joe Heggins, I do know a James Heggins. He’s the HC of a Baldwin Park team that got into the win column last night for the first time… and at the right time…

***

I’m assuming Andy Guerrero keeps the quarterback job at SG…

***

Has a Temple City tight end ever scored two touchdowns in a game prior to the pair Tim Sanderson registered last night at “The Swamp”?

TC tight ends score two touchdowns in a game about as often as Peterson picks up the check at lunch…

***

Mid Valle karma was in full effect with La Serna’s 44-7 victory over Warren.

***

I’m sure Rosemead and Matt Koffler are looking at some difficult film and pondering questions about right now.

***

With that said, is it time to give consideration to Mt. View…the Vikings and Jossymar Ulloa…as possibly being the next best team in the Mission Valley after Arroyo?

Stay thirsty my friends…
