Monrovia Blasts San Marino

(Monrovia) – Nick Bueno threw three touchdown passs and ran for another as Monrovia blasted San Marino 56-0 Friday night in Rio Hondo League action.

The Wildcats scored three touchdowns in a 29 second span in the second quarter to end it. Bueno hit Jay Henderson on a 20 yard strike to begin the onslaught. Then Derrick “Bubba” Johnson scooped up a fumble and returned it 36 yards for a touchdown and Adrian Velasco followed with a 15 yard return of another loose ball.

Later in the second Bueno hooked up with Anthony Craft on a 65 yard pitch and catch for another touchdown.

Monrovia improved to 2-0 in the Rio and 5-2 overall and is currently ranked number one in the Mid Valley Sports Mid-Valley Divsion poll. San Marino fell to 0-2 in league and 2-5 on the year.
