Falcon Fade Continues, PHS Wins

(Glendale) – Andreece Brown’s 3-yard run with 1:56 to play gave Pasadena a 21-14 victory over Crescenta Valley Friday night at Moyse Field.

PHS jumped to a lead on Chris Fuqua’s 80-yard scoring run 4:03 to play in the first quarter. The Bulldogs increased the advantage with 2:51 remaining in the second when Brandon Cox went 16-yards to Cleo Bates.

Crescenta Valley, struggling since tailback Marro Lee went out three weeks before with a broken thumb, responded with 35 seconds left on the clock when senior Mark Sereno scored on a 3-yard run.

In the second half the Falcons drew closer. Kevin Fernandez returned the third quarter kick-off 50-yards to highlight a push that was capped by quarterback Paul Perugini’s 3-yard run.

Both teams continued to squander opportunities, CV fumbled the ball three times on the night.

Finally with 1:56 left on the clock, the Bulldogs pieced together a late drive that culminated in Brown’s game winner.

CV rallied to tie the game early in the third…but three fumbles and poor play send Falcons down.

Crescenta Valley is now 2-2 in the Pacific with a match against unbeaten (in league) Burroughs. Pasadena also improved to 2-2 in league and is alive for a post-season birth.
