On The Couch: May 29

A good Friday to all of you!

That little sigh of relief you heard was NBA Commissioner David Stern getting one step closer to his Kobe vs LeBron Championship series.

I hate to admit it, but I agree with Joe Torosian in saying that the NBA isn’t what it once was.  For me it was those low-scoring affairs in the late 90’s and early 2000’s that did it for me.

Can we get a witness to the congregation!  We told La Salle first basewoman Maddie Herlache about the Mid Valley karma during break when we she was representing Velocity softball on Tuesday night.

So what does she go out and do in Thursday’s quarterfinal game against Arroyo?

Slams two homers as La Salle advances to the semi-finals on Tuesday against South El Monte.

The scary part is the Lancers have a double dose of karma as Katie Tripoli also appeared on the Mid Valley show three weeks ago.

I said my piece about CIF giving Crescenta Valley the raw end of the deal in their draw.  The Falcons finally were ousted in quarterfinals action when they lost to Chino Hills.

It is safe to say that the toughest softball league this season may have been the Sierra as both  the Huskies, and Glendora advanced to the semi’s.

Speaking of infinite wisdom.

What is NHL Commish Gary Bettman thinking?

The Stanley Cup playoff’s are now starting on Saturday, so they can get that rating boost by being on NBC instead of Versus.

Veteran lead Detroit is beat up after two physical series against Anaheim and Chicago, while a young Pittsburgh team is fresher and had an easy time dispatching Carolina.

Bettman got what he wanted though in having the Redwings and Penguins play in the Cup Finals.

Question of the day.

Who’s hotter ESPN’s Erin Andrews or Versus’s Lindsay Soto?
