Have Clipboard Will Travel: McKay goes to Pasadena

Mike McKay moves to PHS

Longtime area assistant Michael McKay will be making his third stop in as many seasons.

McKay, who played prep football at Culver City and went on to star at Tulane, will be joining Randy Horton’s staff at Pasadena to serve as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach.

The move reunites McKay with Bulldog starter Brandon Cox. Both were at Temple City in 2009 in Anthony White’s one season as the Rams HC. McKay on staff and Cox as a freshman defensive back and second string signal caller.

In 2010 McKay served in the same role at Montebello, while Cox transfered to PHS. Both the Bulldogs and the Oilers finished out of the playoffs this fall with identical 4-6 records.

McKay will continue to teach at MHS.
