Mid Valley Girls Basketball Top 25

It is “Crunch Time” for most teams with the final two weeks left in the basketball season.

One thing is for certain, Muir will need some major help for it to get a slice of the Pacific League pie.

Both Keppel, Mayfair, Wilson are cruising to league titles.

At the bottom are those who were given consideration for the Top 25 and also “games of the week”.

1. Bonita (19-2) – Signature win over Diamond Ranch gives Bearcats control for Hacienda League title.

2. Bishop Amat (18-4) – Top spot sighting short lived after loss to Serra.

3. Keppel (20-1) – Just keep rolling in Almont League.

4. Burroughs (19-4) – Magic Number for clinch is three for Indians.

5. Burroughs (16-4) – In zany Pacific only loss is to Muir.

6. Duarte (17-1) – All but sewed up the Montview League title after sweeping Sierra Vista.

7. Whittier (17-6) – Cardinals follow-up win over Chiefs with 10 point win over California.

8. Wilson (16-6) – Can’t find any fault in Valle Vista dominance.

9. Diamond Ranch (11-9) – Panthers league dominance stopped by two points.

10. Muir (15-7) – Took out frustrations on good Poly team.

11. Poly (18-2) – Brought down to earth by Muir.

12. Pasadena (15-8) – Sitting in the third spot with an outside shot at winning Pacific.

13. Valley Christian (13-9) – Must continue strong form if Crusaders want to sweep league.

14. Walnut (14-6) – A year ago, Mustangs were clinching another San Antonio League. This year, trying to stay in the title chase.

15. Sierra Vista (14-4) – Still don’t have an answer for Duarte.

16. Mayfair (14-10) – Monsoons just dominant in Suburban.

17. Los Angeles Baptist (15-8) – Loss to Whittier Christian is a blow to title hopes.

18. Baldwin Park (16-4) – Braves still have a shot to finish second in Valle Vista.

19. Monrovia (12-6) – After 4-6 start, Wildcats on eight game win-streak.

20. Northview (14-9) – Legit point guard helps Vikings down the stretch for league title.

21. South Pasadena (13-7) – Tigers must guard from looking ahead to February 10th.

22. Burbank (12-10) – Go 1-2 in “make or break” week.

23. El Rancho (13-8) – Huge week for Lady Dons who host Whittier and Santa Fe.

24. Glendale (12-10) – Going for season sweep over Muir on February 1st.

25. West Covina (12-8) – Natalie Lam continues to lead the team in scoring.

Others getting consideration: Crescenta Valley (12-10), Whittier Christian (12-10), Arcadia (11-9), La Salle (14-9)
