It’s Confirmed: Hobbie to Coach San Marino

(San Marino) – Mike Hobbie was on the San Marino campus today, met with coaches and players and had lunch with the booster club president. He even got his San Marino gear as it was confirmed that he will be the new head coach of the Titans.

“Yes he was here most of the day meeting with everybody. He’s definitely the guy. No question,” said a San Marino football source late Friday afternoon.

Hobbie, 57, comes to San Marino after coaching at Roosevelt High School (Fresno) for the last four seasons where he had a record of 26-19. He was previously the offensive coordinator at the University of South Florida.

Roosevelt was winless in 2006 but Hobbie guided the Rough Riders to a playoff berth in his first year. He brings over 30 years of coaching experience with him to San Marino.

Hobbie will have his work cut out again for him. The Titans finished 3-7 overall last year after winning their first two games.
