Apaches Hold On

Trevor Gleason delivers a pitch in the sixth inning

(Temple City) – Erik Trask pitched five shutout innings and Arcadia withstood a late Temple City rally to beat the Rams 4-3 Tuesday in the semi finals of the Elks Tournament.

Arcadia jumped out to a 4-0 lead through five but Temple City countered with three in the sixth to get close. Corey Copping had a key double in the inning to score Kyle Starling and Jonah Jarrard looped a single down the right field line to cut the Apaches lead to one.

Arcadia used three pitchers after Trask went the first five but Darren Kerfoot came on in the seventh to retire TC in order and nail it down.

Trevor Gleason and Nick Sergi also pitched for Arcadia – both in the sixth inning.

With the win Arcadia advances to the championship round of the Elks Tournament.
