(Los Angeles) – USC Coach Kevin O’Neill has been suspended by the school for the remainder of the Pacific 10 Tournament. The suspension stems from a verbal altercation that O’Neill got into last night with an Arizona booster at a downtown hotel.

The Trojans beat California 70-56 last night and O’Neill was confronted by the booster, identified as Paul Weitman, when he returned to the hotel.

USC Athletic Director Pat Haden suspended O’Neill and was backed by the PAC 10 Commissioner Larry Scott.

Assistant Coach Bob Cantu will take over the coaching duties during O’Neill’s absence.

USC plays Friday night against Arizona at 6:00 pm at Staples Center in the Tournament Semi Finals.
