Joe Torosian

Good Morning!

Oh, I’ve always been a fan of the Commonwealth of Virginia!

…But Virginia Commonwealth? (Never was much of a Calvin Duncan fan.)

Well, I don’t want to sound bitter, but they can rot and lie stinking in the earth.

Note to Staff: I’ve changed my mind after the Sunday night staff meeting.

Note to Pat Haden: Fire Kevin O’Neil!

I’ve seen bad basketball, I’ve played bad basketball, and unfortunately I’ve paid for bad basketball…And I seldom say this about college basketball (I understand the product) but whoa! It stunk on ice last night in Dayton.

Of the VCU-USC game the old saying is true; “Instead of being my deliverance, it had a strange resemblance to a cat named Frankenstein.”

Maranatha Fan doesn’t like Village Christian being in the Top Five poll we are currently running on the site.

He said: Amjed Aboul-hosn doesn’t pass or block…that the offensive line is gone…and that the quarterback is gone…

Joe Torosian Fan argues back: Amjed-Aboul-hosn is Samson…and Samson is going to run behind Misha Gordon (who flirts with Sasquatch dimensions), Josh Rolls is one of the most versatile and talented players in the Mid-Valley Division nobody knows about, and finally linebacker Ryan Canino tackles everything like he was going after a Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model.

Last Add Joe Torosian Fan: He likes the Minutemen, but believes they have taken a huge hit on the defensive side of the ball with Trent Washington, Chris Cornell, and Mark Jebbia taking the long walk this June.

I can understand Jalen Rose having a resentment when he was seventeen against Duke for only recruiting the “polished” black athlete. (Many of us are guilty of being seventeen when we were seventeen)

This is America, you can express any feelings you want…But at seventeen would it be permissible for me to express resentment to Michigan or UNLV for only recruiting gangsters and thugs. (True story) Guys that couldn’t even spell their name right on the SAT?

Last Add Rose: Would it be right for me to have resentment against former Georgetown HC John Thompson who openly admitted he recruited blacks over whites?

Right, wrong, indifferent, as long as everything is seen through the prism of race and class we will always have these pathetic discussions. And that is exactly what this conversation has been…Pathetic…

Note to Everyone Who Feels Like They Got the Short End of the Stick: Grow up! You don’t like your situation change it. It’s in your hands and not perpetually in possession of those who may or may not be at fault.

…And I like Jalen Rose.

I like the Wilson hire if Bob Burt is comfortable in his own skin. By the time a guy has reached 69 he shouldn’t care about anything but the right thing. Maturity should keep him on the straight and narrow. Squeeze two, if all goes well, pray for four years out of him and hand the job over to a well groomed coordinator.

Outside of a Ryan Maddox, Lou Farrar, or Mike Maggiore any other coach is going to be put through the meat grinder over there…And last I checked none of those coaches are planning on walking the Wildcat sideline this fall.

The untold Wilson story last year was the Wildcats, talent wise, were easily a final four team. That’s Gospel. J.R. Nelson, George Czarnik, Keith Hawk, Joe Prohoroff as of now  are slated to be back…Keep an eye on Raymond Sierra. This team, with this experienced hire, can win right now.

On this exact date day 28 years ago I scored 16-points in a 53-37 rout of FCC in the first round of the CAA Playoffs… Maybe you saw it on cable…the skinny guy with the brillo pad on top of his head was me.

Stay thirsty my friends…
