Friday 4/1: Arcadia 5 Hoover 0
(Arcadia) – K.J. Edson improved to 4-1 and has an ERA of .90 in five starts as he fired a complete game one hit shutout in Arcadia’s 5-0 win over Hoover in Pacific League play. Edson fanned 11 under the lights and Arcadia has yet to be scored on in league having blanked their three opponents so far by a combined 46-0.
The Apaches leading 1-0, got to Tornado starter Cameron Doran in the fifth with a four run surge. The last three runs came with two outs.
It began as Haram Park (1-3, 2 runs, 1 walk) stung one to second before getting picked up on Erik Trask’s sacrifice fly to center. Brendan Campbell walked and got to second and Jeff Kim came on to pinch run. Gary Huang singled up the middle. Kim traded places with Brandon Benson who delivered a two out RBI double down the third base line for a 3-0 Apache lead before the final pair (Huang, Benson) scored as the throw on Darren Kerfoot’s bouncer to third went wild behind first base.
Tuesday 3/29: Arcadia 17 Glendale 0 (5 inn.)
(Glendale) – The Apaches had 15 in the hit column and 11 in the RBI category, wrapping it up early with a nine run first inning in a 17-0 rout of Glendale. Brandon Benson (2-2, RBI, 2B), Jon Wong (2-2, 2 doubles), Nick Sergi (2-2, RBI), and George Papavasiliou (2-3, RBI) all had multiple hits. Park had a double and delivered three runs. Erik Trask started and needed only nine batters in two innings to pick up the win. Sergi, Kim, and Darren Kerfoot also saw pitching time.
Monday 3/28: Arcadia 24 Muir 0 (5 inn.)
(Pasadena) – Nature rained this game out on Friday and this time it was Arcadia doing the showering, scoring at will and leading 11-0 after three and scoring 13 in the fourth in a 24-0 thumping of Muir.
Nine Apaches had at least two runs, led by Darren Kerfoot who went 2-3 with 3 scores, a double, and RBI. Erik Trask was 2-4 with another two-bagger and pair driven in. “T-Blue” Tyler Dominguez also had a hit, two runs and two RBIs. Andrew Cordeiro hurled the first two frames to get the W retiring all six he faced. The lone hit he allowed was then erased with a double play. Sergi, Kim, and Trevor Gleason each faced three and sat three.
