Night of Finishes in South El Monte

(South El Monte) – Quake in the Cage 6 and Old School Promotions put on an action packed night of fights. Not one fight went the distance Saturday night at the South El Monte Community Center.

Humphreys shocks Glover:

Ken Glover owned the fight on its feet landing punches and kicks. Michael Humphreys kept getting takedowns but wasn’t doing damage. Going into the second round things looked the same until Humphreys got the takedown fell into the mount took Glover’s back and slipped in the rear naked choke for the win, midway through the round.

“Beanie Boy” takes care of Perez and Williams TKO’s Guzman to set up title match:

Josu “Max” Garibay (The Vault) took Mark Perez down and landed some good ground and pound in the first round and escaped some submission attempts. Second round was more of the same with Garibay getting the takedown and getting the technical knockout against Perez.

Anthony Williams got a dominating win over Sean Guzman showing some slick standing up and taking the fight to the ground and finishing Guzman with some ground and pound early in the second round.

A 155 lb fight is now set for Garibay and Williams.

Castellanos KO’s Uhl:

Alex Castellanos made quick work of former Temple City football standout Paul Uhl (The Vault). Castellanos took the fight to the ground getting Uhl’s back and landing some hard ground and pound for the knockout win.

Lemus taps out Gomes:

Bernardo Gomes and Mark Lemus both came out throwing bombs, Gomes got an early takedown but fell right into Lemus guillotine choke and the referee was forced to stop the fight. Winner Lemus KO.

Combs wins LHW title:

Both fighters came in intense and looking for an exciting finish. Brock Combs at the bell slammed Michael Perez. Perez tried some submission attempts but wasn’t successful. Combs came down with some hard ground and pound but Perez was able to get back to his feet. Combs then jumped right into a guillotine choke and Perez was forced to tap out. Combs becomes the Quake in the Cage Light Heavyweight champ.
