Andy Guerrero will start the opener against Muir
(San Gabriel) – Andy Guerrero will start at quarterback for San Gabriel against Muir next Friday night in the season opener Coach Jude Oliva said Saturday. Guerrero has been in competition with Eric Alvarez all summer long.
Oliva named Guerrero, a senior, the starter Saturday after watching the Mats scrimmage with Maranatha Friday night. Alvarez, a junior, started last season against Muir but gave way to Guerrero later in the year in what has become a long running battle.
