(Covina District Field)- Jamie Canada caught all three of Vincent Hernandez’ touchdown passes while Jamel Hart led the ground assault with 13 carries for 123 yards and three scores as South Hills easily sailed past St.Monica 61-0 in nonleague action.
DeAngelo Ross and Manny Alvarez both added interceptions while Adam Goss returned a fumble 16-yards to set up the third Hernandez-to-Canada strike.
The Huskies quadrupled their opponent offensively with 441 total yards compared to the Mariners’ 110, converting an impressive 12 of 15 2nd downs (1 TD, 11 1st-downs) with six rushing touchdowns in the process.
Lawon Carney, Michael Bridgewater, and Ralphie Bingochea each scored on the ground late in the second half as the teams emptied their benches.
St.Monica quarterback Lukas Dretzka was 9 of 16 for 76 yards. Bryant De Grate recorded 114 yards on kick returns and caught 4 passes for 30 more while senior running back Sean Martinez had 54 yards on 18 carries to lead the Mariners.
