Pasadena's Mike McFarland seeking some Mid Valley Sports karma last Tuesday night.

Pasadena's Mike McFarland seeking some Mid Valley Sports karma last Tuesday night.

By Joe Torosian

Good Morning!

T-minus-64 until “The Mid Valley Classic”

Still getting reminders that South Pasadena could surprise in the Rio Hondo this year…We’ve said it, written it, reported it: Tiger quarterback Conor Bednarski is legit…

With all the giant passing tournaments going on these days, I hope the host programs are making a few bucks because all of the logistics have to be a nightmare.

Can we start talking college football yet?

The Dodgers should have stuck with Andruw Jones…how many times did I say it this winter?

Mets first baseman Daniel Murphy’s wrap around toss to get Mark Loretta last night made me think of the late Marquette basketball coach and color commentator Al McGuire. He would have said something calmly like: “Murphy comes up keeps his eye on the ball, a sign of a pro, and uses a little french pastry to make the play.”

McGuire also once said; “If the waitress has dirty ankles, the chili should be good.”

By the way Loretta was safe.

You have to hope for Pasadena football and HC Mike McFarland the Bulldogs get to play their games on campus this season instead of at PCC…

LeBron James gets dunked on by a kid, confiscates the evidence on video, orders a cover up…why isn’t this guy in the U.S. Senate?

I’ve seen players thrive when moved into the lead off spot, into the two hole, even from clean up down to the fifth…but seeing Matt Kemp and his .314 batting average in the eighth spot is weird…Sort of like Craig Counsell collecting a paycheck from the Milwaukee Brewers…

Would the Angels really consider putting Jered Weaver in a deal to Toronto for Roy Halladay?

We were asked where the love was for Schurr by offensive line coach Phil Jimenez (formerly of Alhambra)…we extended an invitation to come on the show…mentioned the talent coming back in quarterback Aaron Cantu and running back Nick Castillo (Yes, the former SG back)…and got no response…Eventually we know it will come, but its going to cost some Spartan gear…

Note to Keith Knoop: I’m a Double X

Here’s a great question: We know about the quarterbacks, we know about the receivers, but who was the last great San Gabriel running back?

Former Met & Phillie Lenny Dykstra has filed for bankruptcy…I guess the royalty checks on his book “Nails” have dried up…

By saying I’m not going to talk about soccer and Landon Donovan, does that mean I’m talking about them?

Stay thirsty my friends…
