1.) LSU-Alabama.

2.) Lane Kiffin fined $10,000 for criticizing officials.

3.) Chicago Cubs Manager Mike Quade fired.

4.) The 2011-’12 NBA season was scheduled to begin Tuesday November 1.

5.) South El Monte’s Jesus and Javier Machuca combined: (54 receptions – 777 yards, 6 touchdowns.)

6. Valley Christian’s Brandon Bynum: (37 receptions – 391 yards, 8 touchdowns.)

7.) Miami’s Reggie Bush rushed for 103 yards in a loss to the Giants last Sunday. It was only the second 100 yard game of his NFL career.

8.) Tennessee’s Chris Johnson, the league’s leading rusher the last three years, came into Sunday’s game against the Colts with 268 yards and averaging just 2.9 yards per carry. After struggling early he was benched in favor of Javon Ringer.

9.) Alhambra and San Gabriel are both 3-0 at the same time for the first time in Almont League history. The two will square off Friday night at San Gabriel.

10.) “He’s in the discussion.” – Arroyo Coach Jim Singiser when asked if Steven Rivera was the greatest player in MVL history.
