5.) Monrovia has outscored its four Rio Hondo League opponents 183-9.

6. Amidst scandal, Penn State Coach Joe Paterno was fired Wednesday night. Paterno, 84, was in his 61st year at the school and 46th as Head Coach.

7.) Albert Haynesworth released by New England, signed by Tampa Bay.

8.) With a victory, Schurr (3-6 overall) could win the Almont League title.
