When La Serna has the ball: Look for the Lancers to run the ball with O.J. Medina. When not rushing the ball, La Serna will ask Frankie Palmer to find Mackenzie Duarte and John McFarland on the corners. The running back by committee is a thing of the past for the Lancers as Medina is the main guy.
When Los Altos has the ball: Ground and pound for the Conquerors with Justin Fa’aola and Scott Tibbs as both account for 20 rushing touchdowns. If Shane Virnala is asked to pass the ball look for Eric Toribio and Andy Sotelo to be asked to make the plays.
Player to Watch: Frankie Palmer (La Serna RB) – Palmer is still maybe one year away from reaching his potential. Head Coach Margarito Beltran was just gushing about Palmer after the season last year.
Matchup to Watch: O.J. Medina (La Serna RB) vs Justin Fa’ola (Los Altos RB) – Obviously whoever wins the battle to control the line of scrimmage will be the victor, but Medina and Fa’aola each had over 1300 yards a piece rushing and accounted for a bulk of their teams touchdowns.
