Diamond Ranch (Hacienda #2) at Muir (At-Large Pacific)
Game Time: 7pm
Where: Muir High School
When Diamond Ranch has the ball: It’s a run thing. Simple but true. The Panthers have Andrew Fischer and Nick Gibson to pound the rock and keep the Muir offense off the field. Chris Miller could provide some much needed support at the receiver position if Isaiah Locke-Ramirez may be asked to throw often.
When Muir has the ball: Probably the most athletic team left in the playoffs. How can you argue with Kevon Seymour at the receiver position and Tairen Owens at running back, along with Joshua Washington or Darrick Holmes at quarterback. If the Mustang team that has shown up the last two weeks enters the stadium Friday night, it could be a long night for the Panthers.
Player to Watch: Joshua Washington (Muir QB) – Washington has shown he can play in “big game” situations and might be the difference in the game.
Matchup to Watch: Diamond Ranch Passing Game vs Muir defensive backs – If the Panthers need to throw it maybe a long night. Especially with the Mustangs DB’s still carrying a “chip on their shoulder” since the Turkey Tussle. Isaiah Locke-Ramirez maybe asked to balance the Diamond Ranch running game.
MUIR 28-21
