San Gabriel Matador alum John Grabow

Former San Gabriel Matador John Grabow was traded this afternoon to the Chicago Cubs along with LHP Tom Gorzelanny for pitchers Kevin Hart, Jose Ascanio and minor league 3B Josh Harrison.
Grabow, who had been with the Pirate organization since being drafted in the 3rd round in 1997, sports a 3-0 record with a 3.42 ERA this season along with a WHIP of 1.500. The left-handed Grabow has actually been better against lefties this season. He lead the NL in percentage of runners stranded last season and ranks among the best this season as well.
Grabow joins a Cubs team that is currently 1/2 game behind the St. Louis Cardinals in the NL Central. He stands to become a free agent at season’s end.
