Joe T.

Good Afternoon!

Let me get this out ahead of schedule…I hate New Year’s Eve…

My heart breaks for Rex Ryan.

Whatever you do, don’t tell Andy Villanueva I’m going to the Holiday Bowl…Just tell tell him “Merry Christmas” instead.

So daughter number one gets a new phone.

Daughter number two gets a Kindle Fire

What did Dad get?

“A shirt.”

No, Dad got hosed.

Note to El Monte: Where’s my invite for the alumni basketball game in January?

Early “Player to Keep an Eye on” for next fall? South El Monte quarterback Fernando Ramirez.

Heard it here first Green Bay-New England in the Super Bowl…Heard it here last if its not.

Can LeBron James play 66 games without the ball in his hands?

Is another Mission Impossible really necessary?

Note to San Marino HC Mike Hobbie: Come on the show…Tuesday nights…7:P.M.

Gonna miss Dan Yoder…Even though our back and forth was filled with misunderstandings…He’s a good coach and La Canada is going to miss him more than they think.

Congrats to Arroyo’s Steven Rivera…who is on the verge of sweeping the awards season.

I’m gonna guess if Rivera wanted to run for Mayor of El Monte, right now, he’d win in a landslide.

Are they playing hockey?

This might be out of the box, but the Lakers should make a deal for Dwight Howard.

I think the Clippers need a better small forward…Caron Butler looked old to me.

Josh McCown’s performance Sunday night for the Bears has inspired former San Gabriel quarterback Saile Ramirez to get back into the game. Note to NFL: He’s available.

Got an email asking me what happened to “The Mid Valley Bowl”.

Simple, it died.

In our early years when local post-season match ups were a rarity (Temple City versus Redondo Union, Monrovia versus Lompoc, Gladstone versus El Morro) we created “The Mid Valley Bowl” a computer simulated championship between local teams.

It was a lot of fun, we’d load the information into an old Sierra Pro (Front Page Sports) game and let the computer play it off.

Except now Arcadia and Monrovia play on a yearly basis, San Gabriel and M-Town did meet in the finals…and all I can say is; “Thank you CIF”…Geography means everything to local football…everything.

Now we just need it for basketball and baseball.

The Dude abides…
