Temple City and Muir battled at the TC/La Salle Tournament

Okay the New Year is here so I guess it’s time to bust out the Top 20. Do we really know anything until league starts anyway? Our Area Top 20 consists of teams from the Southeast and Mid-Valley Divisions as they are configured in football. Hey we got to draw the line somewhere. Here you go.

1. Village Christian (15-1) – Only team to Beat Muir.

2. Muir (12-1) – Tevin Polk.

3. Maranatha (11-3) – Jeremy Major.

4. Crescenta Valley (11-2) – CV will give Muir and Pasadena fits in Pacific.

5. Bonita (11-4) – Knocked off Northview and La Canada in December.

6. Pasadena (7-5) – Bulldogs have played everybody except Indiana and Kentucky.

7. Los Altos (9-4) – Should battle Bearcats for Hacienda supremacy.

8. Walnut (10-5) – Three of five losses were to powerful Glendora (twice) and Brea Olinda.

9. California (9-6) – Might be best in Del Rio.

10. Northview (11-5) – Started off hot before cooling off.

11. Rowland (10-5) – Derrick Mar.

12. Workman (7-6) – Lobos have enough to win Montview.

13. La Canada (7-6) – Darrell Dansby.

14. Temple City (8-4) – Nice win over Keppel; gave Muir a scare.

15. Covina (9-5) – Colts beat Keppel, lose to Temple City.

16. Keppel (10-6) – Hung Duong always has the Aztecs competing.

17. Burbank (8-5) – It will be tough sledding for Bulldogs in Pacific.

18. Mayfair (8-5) – Open Suburban Wednesday with La Mirada.

19. Arcadia (7-6) – Apaches fall to Muir by one in Pacific opener.
