(Pasadena) – Pasadena out-rebounded CV 39-22 (16-5 on second chance boards), and all five of its starters finished with double figures in an 80-59 win over Crescenta Valley Friday night in Pacific League action.   

The Bulldogs broke through with a 19-4 run within a key five minute stretch of the third quarter, and ultimately overwhelmed the Falcons by building a 30 point lead with about 2:00 remaining in the final stanza. Both teams arrived into the game with perfect 4-0 league marks.

Ajon Efferson was flawless at the charity stripe (8 for 8), dropped 8 dimes, and led PHS with 19 points. Blake Hamilton stepped up (18 points, 10 rebounds) and joined Brandon Jolley (17 points, 10 rebounds, 3 blocks) in the double-double club. John John Haywood scored 11, and grabbed 5 rebounds, while dishing out 5 assists. Perris Hicks went 5 for 5 from the floor for a personal season high 10 points.

Crescenta Valley combo forward-guard Davis Dragovich dished and boarded 5 times each but offensively was held to 7 points on a pair of deuces and 3 free throws. Dylan Kilgour was next up with 11 points while the Falcons were led by Christian Misi with 22 points and 7 rebounds.

Pasadena won its ninth straight to stay perfect in the Pacific league at 5-0, bumping its season mark to 12-5. CV goes to 4-1 in league and is now 15-3 overall. The Bulldogs visit the city of Glendale again to resume league competition at Hoover on Tuesday before hosting a huge showdown with crosstown foe Muir on Friday. Times for both games are 5:00 pm.

The Falcons have a home-and-home next week and will get a shot at knocking off a league-perfect opponent when it hosts Muir on Tuesday at 5 pm before facing traditional rival Arcadia on Friday at 7 pm.
