Livin la vida loca in Tar Heel country...

“The Across America Edition”

Good Morning!

T-minus-28 until “The Mid Valley Classic”

Game Five: September 26, 1975 at Temple City

Arroyo manages only 89-yards of offense, Temple City gets 155-yards from super soph Don Roberts and 122-yards along with three touchdowns from Mike sharp for a convincing 29-0 victory…and the series fifth consecutive shutout.

Rams quarterback Don Stockham connected with Chuck Alley on a 15-yard scoring pass, but it was the defense led by Bob DeAngelis, Eric Voge, and Mark Lineback that carried the evening.

Limited internet access (depending on the rain), no television, no satellite, I must be in Four Oaks, North Carolina…

I’ve never been a Donovan McNabb (a solid to good quarterback ESPN tries to make great) fan, but let’s make this clear Michael Vick never was in McNabb’s class. After two years away, I doubt Vick will ever be in McNabb’s class…

Vick doesn’t have to be, he’s a hybrid who can do a little of everything on the field, if the Eagles are smart that is what they will do with him…If Vick is smart he’ll embrace this opportunity and not actively seek the starting QB job…Then again he’s Michael Vick…so anything is possible…

Things were never this tough for him back at Marlin Briscoe High…

Does anybody have North Carolina experience? I can’t think of another place in the world that relaxes me so…Unable to explain it…then again anyplace without the perpetual risk of tornados & toll roads tends to sooth me…as do readily available Cracker Barrels & Golden Corrals…

Ate at a diner called “Andy’s” last night…Cheeseburgers and cheesesteaks are the specialty (I had the lasagna)… Their motto is: “Not now Chief…I’m in the zone.”

I always knew Villathedevil was holding out on us…

Fed ducks this morning and a monsoon hit…It was just rain, but enough rain for KNBC back home to interrupt with STORM WATCH!

I highly recommend the Cleveland Draft House…for steaks of course…

Unemployment is over 10-percent here, but it doesn’t seem to effect the attitude…People are always waving at us…and I don’t know them…It’s a strange condition afflicting these folks. They call it; politeness…

Baldwin Park is going to win the Valle Vista…Even three thousand miles from home this is still very clear to me…

On this day 32 years ago I got my butt-kicked at Los Altos high school…Awful yes, but one of the best things ever to happen to me in retrospect…because it was the last time I ever went along with a crowd…

Stay thirsty my friends…
