(“The Ten” is not a top ten, but ten items worth being included in The TEN)

1.) In the 1996 NBA Draft the Los Angeles Clippers selected Lorenzen Wright with the 7th overall of pick in the first round. The Charlotte Hornets drafted Kobe Bryant with the 12th pick—and traded him to the Los Angeles Lakers.

2.) Gladstone (junior) quarterback Kevin Amezquita.

3.) San Gabriel/Gabrielino alum Cedric Ho scores three touchdowns in professional debut in France.

4.) Johnny Unitas played in just five games for the San Diego Chargers 1973 after leaving the Baltimore Colts.

5.) Robin Ventura.

6.) Bert Jones played in just four games for the Los Angeles Rams in 1982 after leaving the Baltimore Colts.

7.) Former Temple City Ram offensive lineman Ben Rush turns 28 today.

8.) Former Dodger right hander Brad Penny has signed a one year deal to play for the Softbank Hawks in Japan.

9.)  Whittier Christian standout Grant Escobar has been accepted to West Point.
