“The Across America Edition”

Good Morning!

T-minus-20 until “The Mid Valley Classic”

Game Twelve: September 13, 1991 at Arroyo

Temple City won its second in a row over Arroyo, 13-0, thanks in large part to solid defense and a well managed offense run by senior quarterback Bob Sanchez. Sanchez, making his first career start, went 5-for-7 for 67-yards and connected with tight end Tony Aemmer for the game’s only touchdown from 23-yards out. Kevin O’Leary added a pair of short field goals to round out the scoring.

Defensively Rams defensive back Greg Flores picked off three passes to add to his total of eight the previous season. On the ground the Knights tandem of Keith MacLellan and D.J. Hoyt were held to a combined 42-yards.

Got the treatment in Chandler, Arizona last night…Real wrath of God type of stuff; thunder, lightning, rain, sand, and wind…It was so bad I double checked my luggage to make sure we hadn’t stolen the Ark of the Covenant…

Question, not that I would ever pay six dollars for a Snickers bar, but how do the hotels know so quickly that you’ve taken something out of their loaded room fridge…You pop open a can of something and the next thing you know they are sliding a piece of paper under your door at four in the morning with a readjusted bill…Is there some little dude in there? Some hidden camera?

Do you find it funny that Jerry Jones built a new state of the art facility for his Dallas Cowboys with a ceiling too low to handle punts?

I’m a little nervous for the Dodgers when the left-handed journeyman starter has a more productive bat than the left-handed hitting starting first baseman…

Nice to see Vince Young well on his way to reclaiming the number one quarterback spot for the Tennessee Titans…I’m sure I’ll get a call from his mom this week asking me to take it easy on him…

Is there a more brain dead soul on the planet than former Alabama left tackle and Cincinnati Bengal number one draft pick Andre Smith…He misses his team’s final bowl game, he shows up at the NFL combine overweight and leaves early, and still Cincy is stupid enough to take him in the first round…and now he is holding out for more dough…Smith is a perfect example as to why there needs to be a cash for clunkers program in the NFL…

Stay thirsty my friends…
