All Star Promotion has Action Packed Night

(Montebello)- Promoter Ed Holmes put together a night of MMA, Muay Thai and pro boxing matches Friday night at Quiet Cannon in Montebello.

MMA:

On the MMA card, Nick Navarro (4-5) fighting out of CSW and Chris Ryan (5-3) from Pimp It Fight Team had a three round stand up war.

Navarro came out strong with punches but Ryan landed hard kicks that slowed Navarro down. After three rounds the judges gave a unanimous decision win
to Ryan who was crowned the new All Star Promotions welterweight champion.

Muay Thai:

In a hard fought battle by both fighters Howard “The Situation” Jeon (4-2) from Saekson Muay Thai was on the short end of a split decision to Jay Alvarez (4-0) out of Team Victory. Jeon looked confused the first round in a half but got on his feet and started landing kicks and rocked Alvarez in the second.

Alvarez was more active, and might not have landed much but made it look good to the judges and was able to get the W.

Pro Boxing:

Jose Zepeda (9-0, 7 KO’s) out of La Puente made quick work of journeyman Sergio De La Torre (11-16-3, 1 KO). Zepeda was in a higher class than De La Torre landing at
will to the body and head and using outstanding footwork.

After Zepeda dropped De La Torre twice in the second round, his corner threw in the towel.
