2.) On this date in 2009 Orlando “El Duque” Hernandez signed a minor league contract with the Texas Rangers. In eight appearances for Oklahoma City Hernandez went 2-0 but never made  it toArlington.

3.) Angels first baseman Albert Pujols: 242 at-bats, 9 home runs, 37 Rbis, .260 batting average.

6.) On this date in 1965 the Rolling Stones release “Satisfaction” and Major Lawrence Thomas Holland, of Alhambra, is shot down inVietnam. He parachute’s to safety but is killed in a gunfight with the Viet Cong. His body is never recovered.
