Last chance to volt your team forward. The poll will remain up through Sunday night. We’ll post final results on Monday along with the Northwest Division Tracking poll.
(Note to Cmon Man: Last we heard La Puente is in the Northwest)
As always leave a comment, send a tweet, message us on FB, or drop a line through email (gear is good). The more we learn about your team, the more they move up. To keep balance, because it is largely unscientific, we weighted the teams at the start. (point totals listed after each team)
1.) (6/13#1) Monrovia Wildcats (145): Have we talked enough about Blake Heyworth? Number one quarterback in the Mid-Valley Division?
2.) (6/13:#2) Sierra Canyon Trailblazers (92): Have not lost a game since 2010 when they lost twice to the same team…Who was that team?
3.) (6/13:#4) El Monte Lions (90): “There are Lions is El Monte and baby they are ready to roar!”
4.) (6/13:#3) San Dimas Saints (85): The Clockwork Saints. They will run the ball from a hundred different angles, take a league title and compete for a final four spot in the post-season. In other words they’re going to be okay.
5.) (6/13:#5) Arroyo Knights (75): Can OC MacMillan convert to a smashmouth game?
6.) (6/13:#7) San Gabriel Matadors (74): Nice, the dimensions on Baca roll in…or were those Mario Williams’ numbers?
7.) (6/13:#6) Paraclete Spirits (73):…Correctamundo!
8.) (6/13:#8) South El Monte Eagles (53): We saw Leo Artiaga play…We believe. (Acosta didn’t play any safety?)…
9.) (6/13:#15) Mt. View Vikings (45): Started five day poll at 25, come into last day at the nine spot. Can they find an opening into the third spot in a competitive MVL?
10.) (6/13:#11) Bell Gardens Lancers (42): Up a spot, information coming forth…That’s how we like it. See you this afternoon.
11.) (6/13:#9) South Pasadena Tigers (37): Will cut SP some slack because its graduation week.
12.) (6/13:#12) Alhambra Moors (36): Focus on today because only today can change tomorrow…Nothing can change yesterday.
13.) (6/13:#13) Northview Vikings (36): Stuck in a log jam at 13…no big deal. Need to pull 2008 tape to figure out how to beat SD…A little more critical.
14.) (6/13:#10) Baldwin Park Braves (35): A four spot drop…No room to rest…If you want to shock the world you have to stay charged.
15.) (6/13:#16) La Canada Spartans (34): We had a feeling about Paynter…So he pounds the rock…passing game opens a bit…Spartans competitive…Fans come out to watch—Okay, let’s keep it real.
16.) (6/13:#14) Rosemead Panthers (33): Really Mead? You slack off in the MVL you’re going to miss the playoffs again.
17.) (6/13:#18) Schurr Spartans (32): A new version of Rhino…and this one carries the ball…Should be fun.
18.) (6/13:#17) San Marino Titans (31): How much are they going to miss Kwame Do?
19.) (6/13:24) Gabrielino Eagles (31): From oblivion to 19…with a bullet…Any team with a quarterback named “Elijah” has us interested. “Fire From The Sky” offense.
20.) (6/13:#19) Covina Colts (29): No offense C-Town…but the WC game scares us.
21.) (6/13:20) Mark Keppel Aztecs: (22): Down a spot…mess with the bull, you get the horns.
22.) (6/13:#21) Montebello Oilers (21): Not real happy with what we’re hearing out of Oil Town…because we’re not hearing anything…It’s okay, it’s only June.
23.) (6/13:#22) Temple City Rams (20): You know the Hitchcock teams in the 70’s weren’t exactly oversized.
24.) (6/13:#23) Pomona Red Devils (12):…”If you feel you have reached this recording by error…”
25.) (6/13:UR) Calvary Chapel Grizzlies (10): The Grizz climb into the Top 25…Open season against Western Christian (we know some folks there) on August 31st.
(Others) Blair (9), Brentwood School (9), Wilson (8), Nogales (7), Pasadena Marshall (4), Viewpoint (5), Kilpatrick (8), Windward (3)
This will run for the next five working days. Then we will launch a Northwest Division poll.
The official Mid Valley Sports Top 25s will come out August 1st.

Never really hear that much about Whittier Christian here, but they will be strong in the air, strong on the ground, very fast, agressive and bruising on the defensive side of ball like always.
Not true Mt View didn’t stop West Co. All you Mt View fans are crazy. Another summer of crazy hype will turn into a 2-8 season.
Honestly the view always do good in passing league but suck in season I do really think Bmart will lead his team el monte to a mvl title Who know maybe Rosemead will battle for last Place against the view
Rosemead Hs Wr Steven San Miguel one of there good hand player was hurt in practice this week so we wont see him in any passing league game this month and that a big blow to rosemead team.
I heard that West Covina couldn’t score against the View? It’s only passing league but West Covina is a team of high caliber and for the View to be stopping them, now thats big. MVL should be ready for a change..
It’s el montes year there gonna win mvl I’m a rosemead dad and I’ve been watch all teams in mvl and el monte has the best chance cause Rosemead lots a lot of talent to grad no qb or rb and Rivera is gone so arroyo going to suck other teams just suck
Rosemead might not win a game in the MVL. Good luck panthers you will need it.
Watch arroyo only beat the view and gabby
Haha monster line that’s funny will see pussycat
@rebel they were a passing team with rivera now no qb I bet they come in third behind El monte and Rosemead em has qb rb two wr and half the line plus the new starting linemen are pretty good Bmart will pick apart mvl there gonna be like the lions 2seasons ago good rb Mikey Jimenez and monster line.
Rosemead you have more to worry about. You have no QB and No RB it will be a loooooong season.
Arroyo still has Andre Kerkhoff he’s a beast and they still have that same running back there going to smash u guys like always
@rebel nah u don’t know anything without Rivera arroyo is nothing
El Monte always thinking there good arroyo is going to beat u guys again like always
B-Mart looked good for his first passing game of the summer. Not a bad start. WR’s looked good and defense was running around being physical. Go Lions!!!!!
At fans it’s just passing league look wat happen last year em put up 50 on the view
Very very quiet over at Arroyo High School.
I heard the great bmart like u guys call him couldn’t score on mount view today at passing league doesn’t sound that good for the lions
@knightstalker u know ur stuff good thing santacruz messed up if he didn’t then lions would of had another losing season Bmart is the new man of the Mvl props to Rivera for all he did but it’s bmarts time
Like what u saying emhs Bmart is just a monster
Players get off the blogs and go hit the weights. As for Martinez being better than Rivera? How? Rivera was all-league for 4 years and league mvp for 3 in a row. By the way he also has 3 mvl titles on his resume. At best BMart be all league twice and a 1 time league champion. He is a good player and was the second best player last season… This season we will see how he does. Remember, if Santa Cruz hadn’t of messed up EM would have had him as the starter. I would say it worked out well for Lion fans.
At Gabrielino
GHS throwing against TC today at 5 pm
FROM MVS STAFF: At TC or Gabrielino?
Better than Rivera are u serious ? Well cats will just see who wins the mission valley league
El Monte will beat everyone. NO ONE in our league is a match for BMART he’s going to be greater than Rivera.
In BMART we trust.
@ panthers no they won’t Bmart and his offense will smash on Rosemeads d trust me
Rosemead will win the mission valley league and el Monte stop thinking your the best
The view sucks and that’s a wrap 4th or .last in MVl lions will win first MVl title in over 30 years Bmart will throw over 2500 and rush for 1000 he’s the man of the league now
Youre still Mt. View
Watch out for this kid! Brando Chavez! He will big a huge part in the Double Wing offense and defense for The View. This kid has a lot of heart, so watch out. He will be leading the line this year.
Watch out the View’s Center Brando Chavez. He is ready to knock heads and create holes for the Double Wing Running backs. He is going lead the Vikings Line and Offense, watch out.
Mountain view will for sure turn heads this year because we are so good
The Mid Valley watch out for the 4th Martinez . Yasban Bazan Martinez at Line Backer hes guaranteed to be turning some heads.. The View has a 3 headed monster at the linebacker position!
Northview played at South Hills passing league today. NHS played well and was victorious! Go Vikings!
Darren Torres will step up for the Colts!
& Seniors; Justin Turner, David Gonzalez, Evan Stretton, Elia Semu.
@MVS staff, I’m not slamming you at all, just asking. If you notice There all questions?
Monrovian,
I guess I got some wrong info, I know there will be at least 4 teams at arroyo today. lol
What’s going on with the Coach Sepulveda at Keppel? I want to know about him? Is he for real? Is the buzz legit? What’s is he planning to bring different to the table that others before him have not? Better yet, what does he stand for? What are his philosophies? Are you guys running low on staff members this time a year? I have many questions, I hope you guys can answer? I’m a Keppel alumni just curios, that’s all? Will he be on the MVS show?
From MVS Staff: Really? You’re going to slam us? Coach Sepulveda was scheduled to be on the show and cancelled, not much we can do about that. As far as philosophies its Keppel. You haven’t won an Almont game since 1999. Passing game, running game at this point don’t matter…Just the right guy that the administration needs to rally around.
I heard Whittier Christian is at Arroyo today.
Loving this blog
There’s more than one View out there. As in VIEWPOINT. Happy to be in the ned division and happy to have found this wondeful site. So different than the rest. Guys and Gals keep up the good work.
I’d like to see Arroyo get shut out of the playoffs for a change. Maybe they wouldn’t be so conceeded about things if they felt what that was like. I say that because Arroyo fans don’t know how blessed they have been with the stability of first D. J. Mackinnon and then Jim Singiser for the last 30 years. Wait till the baldman steps down then you will see what its like to wait for a coach to be hired or a walk on to make a decision that he wants to be at a place that may or may not support him. Knights fans you shoud be thankful everyday.
Monrovia will be @ South Hills.
This blog is a bunch on nonsense. A fantasy blog, all I have to say is wait till the pads come on! It’s all nice and dandy to have the View ranked at #9, That whole team is full of wannabe football players, once they get smacked in the mouth they’ll run to the mountains and then stare behind the trees to look at their rear View, why you think that school is called Mountain View. The Southmen will destroy them, the Lions will devour them, the Knights will slice them, the Panthers will smack them, and even the Tongva nation will cook them for Thankgiving dinner…those wannabe football players should stick to kicking the ball instead of playing a real man’s sport.
From MVS Staff: Did you read the kicker before you looked at the rankings? This is the fans choice. Come in and defend your team, if not go and enjoy the greatness of the Trib-Star
What time @ Arroyo 411?
how is keppel in front of montebello in the rankings they have done nothing but hire a new coach
I dont think there is any team with the experiance arroyo players have most of the starters have been playing this game as kids. JACOB SALMON, TONY HERNANDEZ, SONNY GONZALEZ, JESUS CALVILLO, NATHAN COTO,GABRIEL GOMEZ, CHRISTIAN SERNA. They have played with the best around. Against Love from west covina and Thropay out of chino hills. Remember the names you will be hearing about all of them.
Arroyo, Baldwin Park, Bonita & Monrovia today at Arroyo. Linemen will be there too.
Alex Acosta never played safety! Pablo Ocegueda was the starting safety. Saul Bustos would sometimes play that spot too or be the second safety when they wanted two safeties.
