Cox Decides on Arizona

Pasadena QB Brandon Cox Commits to Arizona

(Pasadena) – Pasadena quarterback Brandon Cox, who has had other Division 1 offers, and interest from several schools made his decision and committed to the University of Arizona he confirmed Thursday.

Arizona extended an offer to Cox back in February when Cox had called the school to get some information on the program.

“Coach (Robert) Anae informed me that I was the number one quarterback on their recruiting board and would like to offer me a scholarship,” Cox said at the time. “It was unbelievable. I was in shock. I’m so thankful and happy. It shows that some of my hard work has finally paid off and I feel grateful and somewhat relieved at the same time. Now it’s time to work even harder.”

When Cox went on a visit to Arizona he was sold.

“Out of all the places I’ve seen and visited…I didn’t get that same feeling that I got when I went to Arizona. It just felt right,” Cox said. “Now that I committed I feel good and even more hungry to work harder and develop my skill sets even more.”

Last season Cox threw for 2,697 yards and six touchdowns and rushed for 562 yards and eight TDs.

As a 14 year old freshman at TC, Cox was sent in as a punt returner. Waiting on the kick spiraling down out of the lights, Cox looked totally relaxed, not all tensed up and freaked like so many punt returners look. In his head he had already locked on the flight of the ball, the speed and distance of the approaching punt return tacklers and probably even seen a potential running alley to head for once he fielded the ball. It was clear this kid was gifted.\

Cox will bring strong effort and represent the SGV…. best of luck to Brandon this upcoming season and beyond. His mom and dad are good people and no doubt are glowing with this great news
