Maranatha quarterback Andrew Elffers, with 59 touchdown passes to his credit over the last two seasons, has been offered a scholarship to play football at the University of Nevada-Las Vegas.

The offer is the third for the Minuteman senior. Eastern Washington and Idaho have already made offers for Elffers to join their respective programs.

As a sophomore in 2010 Elffers gained attention with 37 touchdown passes running a spread offense almost exclusively from the shotgun formation. In his junior year he made the adjustment to a “West Coast” offense, played more under center, utilized a stronger running game, and threw 22 scoring tosses.

“He’s a great young man,” said Maranatha HC Peter Karavedas. “His future is very bright.”
