Ramirez started all of last season as a junior leading the Eagles to a 7-4 record and a trip to the first round of the CIF Mid-Valley Division playoffs. Ramirez and the Southmen have even greater expectations for 2012. Levi Wells has transferred in from La Habra and is competing with Ramirez for the starting position. But South El Monte HC Ibis Aguilar feels that is beneficial to Ramirez.
“It’s good to have somebody pushing him. It will only make him better. I like to see competition at all the positions,” Aguilar said.
At this time Ramirez is slated to be the number one guy.
