3. Dodgers sweep the Giants in San Francisco to regain a tie for first place.

5. Former Washington Redskin and actor Terry Crews turns 44 today.

6. Cal’s returning leading tackler is Aaron Licon who posted 42 to go along with two sacks.

7. Zack Greinke loses his Angel debut 2-0.

8. On this day in 1960 the AFL played its first preseason game with the Boston Patriots defeating the Buffalo Bills 28-7.
