Kick it!

We’ve had a ghost in the machine today, so this will be a little short.

There are worse places to be on a Friday night than at La Mirada when the pregame playlist includes; Joan Jett, Guns N’ Roses, and ACDC.

Thirteen hundred miles later I can say two things…I am so sick of McDonalds and I love D-2 college football.

What a great atmosphere up at Humboldt State. I can recommend the place, if not the pizza. When you have Monrovia Pizza Company, Lampost, and Rio’s…the pizza up in the Redwood Jungle doesn’t quite come up to home in my opinion.

I would like to thank the Lord for 54 degree weather up there. Marvelous…and then to have it tied to football…pure blessing.

Azusa Pacific opens up at home this Saturday night…

Note to Oso Viejo: Thanks for the help though, are there any other dining recommendations in Humboldt?…Got to get ready for next year.

La Puente’s win over Arroyo Friday night was the Warriors first victory over the Knights since October 4, 1957. Fifty-five years ago the Warriors won 13-6 at Arroyo….(I don’t know if that makes me a nerd or anything.)

Personally, I can’t imagine why someone would draft the Chicago Bears Jay Cutler for their fantasy football team and then not start him.

Did you know Dwight Howard is now with the Lakers? O-Bop Shu-Bam! That’s great news…But all the news ain’t good there’s a rumor Joe Blanton is a Dodger.

Mid Valley Karma has a will of its own, and I’m sure it had a hand in La Salle’s 50-6 win over Village Christian.

(For the Record: Mid Valley Sports does not believe in a spiritual karma, but does subscribe, almost fully, to the belief in a sports karma.)

Oh, I have always loved fantasy football…

I’m down with Gabrielino, but the problem for everyone else is there opponents, thus far, have an 0-9 record.

Temple City is 0-3 for the third consecutive season…It is winless in its first three games for the fourth consecutive season. (In Anthony White’s lone season the  Rams started 0-2-1)

The last time Temple City won, one of its first three games? September 12, 2008 when Morgan Hatch completed 10 of 14 passes for four touchdowns in the Rams 34-0 victory over Arroyo. (In the same game Steven Rivera made his debut for the Knights when Austin McFarland went out with a busted forearm).

TC has been shutout three consecutive games for the first time since 1956 when they fell to Arroyo (6-0), Bell Gardens (31-0), and Upland (6-0). They have been shutout three times in the same season for the first time since 1958.

The flip side of Temple City losing 23-0 to Alhambra…Is the Moors getting their first  victory of the season, and first under new HC Joe Kanach. Good for them.

On this night in 2001 Denver Broncos wide receiver Ed McCaffrey broke his leg against the New York Giants in the season opener in front of a national audience. The next morning, the whole world watched terrorists bring down the World Trade Center buildings, and hit the Pentagon.

Back tomorrow
