Game Night: Week Seven Southeast Division

This game against WestCo is the sort of game Bonita’s Reggie Turner worked all off season for, it’s why he lifted all those weights, it’s why he did all those things…The time is now.

All games are at 7:PM unless otherwise indicated

Del Rio League

Thursday Night, October 11th

Pioneer (1-5) at California (6-0)

Rip City.

California 45 Pioneer 7

Friday Night, October 12th

El Rancho (3-3) vs. Santa Fe (2-4) at Pioneer H.S.

After getting forfeit win over St. John Bosco, the Chiefs had the win taken back by CIF. Either way, if the Dons are serious about this season, they have to be serious about this game. SF is in survival mode, ER needs to be in playoff mode.

El Rancho 36 Santa Fe 28

Whittier (3-3) vs. La Serna (5-1) at Cal High

To pick against the Lancers would be like picking Romney to win New York on November 6th. Not happening. Can the Cardinals keep it under 50 is the bigger question.

La Serna 42 Whittier 0

Hacienda League

Friday, October 12th

Diamond Ranch (4-2) at Los Altos (4-3)

Are the Conquerors banged up? Are they inconsistent? Is Diamond Ranch playing decent football right now? Go with the Panthers.

Diamond Ranch 31 Los Altos 14

Bonita (3-3) at West Covina (3-4)

Bearcats need to come out bold on offense and put the Bulldogs on the spot early. Things will be alright if they keep Diebold upright. This could be a watershed moment in the Hacienda history.

Bonita 28 West Covina 24

Rowland (5-2) vs. Walnut (1-5)

This is the kind of game you check at about 9:15 on your phone and then shake your head because it says the Mustangs are leading by 10 with three minutes to play. It shouldn’t happen like that, but then again it’s the Hacienda.

Rowland 38 Walnut 17

Pacific League

Friday, October 12th

Glendale (1-5) at Arcadia (2-4)

This will be a good game for the Apaches. The Nitros aren’t good, but they aren’t Blair either. A win here and the playoffs will be that much closer. Beware Glendale’s Mike Davis out of the backfield.

Arcadia 30 Glendale 12

Burbank (4-2) vs. Crescenta Valley (3-3) at Burroughs H.S.

Bulldogs have too much for Falcons. CV’s playing well, but not Burbank well. A good defense can stop the 2012 version of Paul Schilling’s offense. Hector Valencia and Bank have a good defense.

Burbank 31 Crescenta Valley 7

Pasadena (1-5) at Hoover (2-4)

Neither team playing well right now. Long night. PHS wins.

Pasadena 21 Hoover 8

Burroughs (2-4) at Muir (3-3)

The Indians got hammered here a year ago without Zander Anding. They return in 2012, without Zander Anding. Mustangs run them right back onto the 210

Muir 41 Burroughs 6

San Gabriel Valley League

Friday Night, October 12th

Gahr (3-3) at Downey (4-2)

The one game that will count in the SGV League this weekend, and Gahr’s last chance. Can’t pick against the Vikings.

Downey 34 Gahr 17

Lynwood (2-4) at Paramount (5-1)

“Some day we’ll all walk the green mile…” Now, it’s the Knights turn.

Paramount 52 Lynwood 7

Dominguez (2-4) at Warren (0-6)

The remedy for all of Dominguez’s ills.

Dominguez 35 Warren 0

Suburban League

Friday Night, October 12th

Glenn (1-4) at La Mirada (6-1)

The best thing for Glenn to do is to get its butt out of here the best way it can. They need to catch the Midnight Express. Note to Eagles: Remember, it’s business not personal.

La Mirada 56 Glenn 0

Bellflower (3-3) at Norwalk (6-1)

Bucs are good, but the Lancers are, as my friend Cheech would say; “So too much!”

Norwalk 45 Bellflower 24
