(El Monte)- Sierra Vista used a pair of Nathan Carrillo touchdowns to beat Mountain View Friday night 14-7.
View took a first quarter lead when a bad snap on a SV punt sailed and the Vikings Jesus Ordaz recovered the ball in the end zone. After Ordaz added the point after the Vikes led 7-0.
The Dons came back with a long drive in the second quarter with 6:03 remaining Nathan Carrillo scored on an eight-yard run. SV converted the deuce on Jacob Juarez’s run and took an 8-7 advantage.
With 1:59 left in the half Carrillo plunged in from a yard out to make it 14-7 after the two-point attempt failed.
Mountain View, 0-3, had several opportunities to get back into the game but kept shooting itself in the foot with numerous penalties.
The Dons improved to 2-0 on the season.
