On this date in 2009: Monrovia’s Derrick Johnson registered 15 tackles, Dujawn Jones & Charlie Cimmarusti each added interceptions, Ellis McCarthy & Philip Romero each recovered fumbles, and Kizz Prusia a sack as the Wildcats beat Paraclete (2008 Mid-Valley champs) 14-3 at Knight High School in Lancaster. The win advanced M-Town to the semi-finals and a match with Whittier Christian.
