1. Marvin Miller, the former executive director of the Major League player’s association who fought owners and eventually won free agency, passes away at 95.

2. Evan Longoria agrees to 10-year, $136 million deal with Tampa Bay.

3. Jon Embree fired at Colorado after two years.

4. The Lakers miss 20 free throws in a 79-77 loss to Indiana Wednesday night.

5. La Serna TE/OLB John McFarland: Receiving: 21-390 yards, 5TD; 48 tackles, 7 sacks.

6. Paraclete LB Bryan Rodgers: 64 tackles, 38 assisted, 102 total; 3 sacks, 2 interceptions.

7. Downey RB Justin Huff: Rushing: 218-2140 yards, 22TD; Receiving: 23-342 yards, 2TD.

8. Former Miami Dolphin receiver Paul Warfield turns 70 today.

9. Downey’s last CIF title appearance was in 1957 when the Vikings beat San Diego High School 24-7 at Balboa Stadium in San Diego.

10. On this date in 2008 Rosemead routed San Dimas 59-22 to advance to the semi finals of the Mid-Valley Division playoffs. Two weeks later the Panthers fell to Paraclete in the finals.
