3. Gus Malzahn, who was the OC when Auburn won the national championship in 2010 is named the Tigers head coach.
4. Wisconsin Coach Bret Bielema will leave the school after the season to take over as HC at Arkansas.
5. Former Angel Dan Haren signs one-year, $13 million deal with the Washington Nationals.
6. The Red Sox sign both Mike Napoli and Shane Victorino to three year, $39 million contracts.
7. Madison (San Diego) Warhawks running back Pierre Cormier has rushed for 1940 yards and 26 touchdowns.
8. Jim Plunkett turns 65 today.
9. “Are you the one that picked against us? That’s what I want to know.”- Downey HC Jack Williams to Tim Peterson after the CIF Final last Saturday night.
10. Rick Majerus concluded a 25 year college head coaching career with an overall record of 517-215 – a winning percnntage of over 70 percent. Majerus passed away December 1 at the age of 64.
